What it Takes to Serve Cocktails to 300,000 People at a Summer Festival

Chicagoans and our millions of tourists are known to soak up the summer months and flock to music festivals, where the musicians are rocking, people are dancing, and drinks are always flowing. With Lollapalooza upon us, we thought we’d share some insight on exactly what it takes to fulfill the thirst of thousands of people at a big summer festival.

Twisted Alchemy has supplied our cold-pressed juice at Lollapalooza, Windy City Smokeout, and a few other large festivals over the years and we’re looking forward to doing more. The lines at beverage tents are always packed with people, and juicing can take unnecessary time that cocktail providers don’t have. Last Year’s Lollapalooza

At the 2017 annual Chicago Lollapalooza festival, Twisted Alchemy posted up at the Mix’d Up Craft Cocktail Tent and worked with Tito’s, Bacardi, Hendrick’s, Jack Daniels, and Red Bull to bring Chicago residents and visitors delicious craft cocktails. The grounds were flowing with approximately 400,000 people, consuming around 75,000 cocktails concocted with Twisted Alchemy at the Mix’d Up Tent over the four days. Now that is a LOT of cold-pressed juice!

This Year’s Lollapalooza

At Lollapalooza 2018, Mix’d Up Craft Cocktails is stepping up their game and will now have two tents. Your math is correct – that is twice the amount of deliciously cold craft cocktails flowing! Twisted Alchemy is excited to help Lolla hit the 100,000 cocktail mark this year with the expanded tents to deliver cold-pressed juice for this year’s festival lovers. We are teaming up with Effen Vodka and Hendrick’s Gin all four days, from the first concert to the last, with Don Julio in the Mix’d Up Craft Cocktail tents as well! The specialty drink of this 2018 Lollapalooza Mix’d Up tents will be the Watermelon Gin Cocktail brought to you by Hendricks Gin and Twisted Alchemy. This cocktail is the perfect way to cool off and fuel your dancing these next four hot August days.

Windy City Smokeout

On the weekend of July 12-14, Chicago hosted its annual Windy City Smokeout. Although this festival isn’t the same scale as Lollapalooza, it still requires a ton of beverages, and therefore a ton of cold-pressed juice. The Windy City Smokeout was filled with great bands and BBQ, and of course a nice cold cocktail is the perfect partner for those two things. Twisted Alchemy supplied the cold-pressed juice for drinks at this event, as we can scale to any event location, any size.
