Sticky Mandarin Orange Glazed Salmon
Share
This sticky Mandarin Orange glaze turns a simple piece of salmon into the easiest impressive dinner in your rotation. Made with our 100% Cold-Pressed Mandarin Orange Juice, real fruit does all the work here, no bottled marinade required. Serve it over rice with a quick saute of greens, or double the glaze and keep the extra on the table for drizzling.
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
- 1/2 cup Twisted Alchemy 100% Cold-Pressed Mandarin Orange Juice
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (slurry)
- Optional, for serving: sliced scallions or sesame seeds
Instructions
- Season the salmon fillets with a pinch of salt and pepper. Heat a drizzle of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the salmon for 3-4 minutes per side, until nearly cooked through.
- While the salmon cooks, combine the Mandarin Orange juice, soy sauce, honey, and garlic in a small saucepan.
- Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the cornstarch slurry and continue to simmer until the glaze thickens slightly, about 3-4 minutes.
- Brush the glaze over the salmon during the last few minutes of cooking, reserving the extra to serve on the side.
- Garnish with sliced scallions or sesame seeds and serve warm.
The Alchemist's Tip: Skip the guesswork on doneness. The moment your salmon turns from translucent to opaque pink and flakes easily with a fork, pull it from the heat, even if it looks a touch underdone in the thickest part. Carryover heat finishes the job while it rests, and you'll never end up with a dry piece of salmon again.
